Propaganda and the Politicization of the Corpses of BLA Terrorists

In recent times, Mehrang Baloch has emerged as a vocal figure in the ongoing conflict between Baloch nationalist groups and the state. Her actions have drawn the attention of both local and international media, often in ways that seek to portray the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) as victims rather than the perpetrators of violence. However, a closer look at her activities reveals a disturbing pattern of manipulation and distortion of facts, particularly when it comes to the politicization of BLA terrorists’ deaths and the deliberate concealment of their identities.

Mehrang’s actions are not new. Her previous involvement in inciting chaos following the Mach attack, where she attempted to seize bodies without adhering to medical and legal procedures, provides insight into her tactics. At the time, a suicide bomber named Wadood Satakzai, whose family had falsely claimed him as a “missing person,” was identified in the medical report. Despite this, Mehrang, alongside others like Gulzadi, continued to push the narrative that the bomber was an innocent victim. This was an attempt to cover up the involvement of BLA members in acts of violence, thus distorting the truth to further a political agenda.

Currently, Mehrang is once again attempting to shield the identities of BLA terrorists who were killed in the Bolan operation. Instead of allowing the legal procedures for identifying and disposing of the bodies of these terrorists, she is actively working to block these efforts. Globally, the bodies of terrorists are disposed of only after completing the necessary legal and medical protocols to ensure accountability. Yet, Mehrang’s interference in this process serves one primary purpose: to present these terrorists as innocent victims, thus garnering sympathy and support for their cause. The question arises: where in the world is it acceptable to impede legal procedures for the sake of propaganda? This is a clear attempt to distort the narrative and create a facade of victimhood.

Her actions are further compounded by the support she receives from external sources. Indian sponsors and certain Western media outlets have rallied behind her, amplifying her narrative in an effort to discredit the state’s actions in Balochistan. However, the agendas of these external actors have not gone unnoticed. These media channels and foreign entities are exposed for their role in spreading misleading information, ultimately aiming to further destabilize the region and undermine the state’s authority.

The situation in Balochistan is complex, and the questions surrounding Mehrang’s actions are not just limited to her involvement in shielding terrorists. Some crucial questions remain unanswered: Who is pressuring Mehrang to create chaos, disrupt hospitals, and obstruct legal procedures? Who is benefitting from the political theater she is orchestrating? Why do certain international media outlets, such as the BBC, promote her narrative without questioning the underlying motives?

Furthermore, there is growing concern over the fact that Mehrang has benefited extensively from state resources. Sources from the Balochistan Health Department reveal that she received significant state support during her education. With government funding amounting to approximately 10 million rupees, Mehrang completed her MBBS degree. She also received a monthly scholarship during her studies and later, substantial financial support during her house job and postgraduate training. This raises a fundamental question: how can someone who has benefited so greatly from the state turn against it so vehemently? It is essential that individuals like Mehrang, who utilize state resources but promote anti-state rhetoric, be held accountable for their actions.

Moreover, Mehrang’s ties to the Balochistan Youth Congress (BYC) and her involvement with the BLA are significant. While Mehrang attempts to shield BLA terrorists from public scrutiny, her connections with BYC and her support for BLA’s activities cannot be ignored. The so-called Operation Dara-e-Bolan, which the BLA claims as a victory, is nothing but a desperate propaganda effort designed to cover up their failures and hide their losses. Instead of facing the consequences of their actions, the BLA resorts to fabricating casualty figures and inflating the number of security forces killed in action. In doing so, they seek to garner international sympathy, all the while concealing the fact that they are responsible for a multitude of criminal activities, from bank looting to the exploitation of innocent civilians.

It is also important to address the role of BYC in supporting BLA’s activities. BYC has played a key role in recruiting saramchars (militants), whom they later falsely label as “missing persons.” This tactic, which aims to gain public sympathy for the BLA, is nothing more than a deceitful ploy to hide the true nature of these terrorists. It is clear that the BLA, with the support of BYC, has been able to manipulate public perception and divert attention from their criminal activities.

The tragic Jaffer Express attack, which took place during Ramzan, serves as another example of the BLA’s tactics. The BLA attempted to portray itself as a resistance force fighting for the rights of the Baloch people, yet their actions during the attack—taking hostages, killing civilians, and committing acts of terror—expose their true intentions. The BLA is not a resistance group but rather a criminal organization driven by the desire for power and external support. Their actions, fueled by RAW and anti-CPEC forces, only further destabilize the region and hinder the development of Balochistan.

As the situation in Balochistan unfolds, it becomes increasingly clear that the people of the region are rejecting the BLA’s narrative of violence and terror. Despite the efforts of individuals like Mehrang, who continue to spread propaganda, the reality on the ground is far different. Balochistan is progressing, with development projects underway, and the majority of the people are eager for peace and stability. The BLA’s tactics of violence, terrorism, and manipulation are losing their grip on the people. However, the truth cannot be concealed forever. The people of Balochistan are rejecting terrorism, and the state’s efforts to bring peace and development to the region will ultimately prevail.
