The Exercise Cambrian Patrol has been running for over 60 years and is the British Army’s principal All Arms Patrol Exercise. It is a world-renowned, annual military exercise, aimed at enhancing the operational capability of participating forces. It is open to all three Services (regular and reserve) while international participants are encouraged to take part.

A total of 128 teams from 42 countries participated in the event. The exercise provides a challenging, scenario-based environment for soldiers to demonstrate their basic military training, leadership, and physical and mental robustness. The exercise tests a wide range of military skills, including battlefield casualty drills, tactical conduct, leadership, reconnaissance, radio communications, and civil engagement. It also assesses physical and mental resilience, operational law, and ethical behaviour under stressful conditions.

In the Exercise, participants were required to cover 60 kilometres within 48 hours across inhospitable terrain and complete specialist tasks in a contested environment. The scenario-based exercise is not a competition although patrol performance is assessed throughout based on Battlecraft Syllabus (BCS) and Individual Training Requirement (ITR), in addition to robustness and leadership, the exercise says on its official website.

Out of all the teams, the Pakistan Army’s Team (67 Punjab) secured the highest number of points (864) and was awarded a gold medal for its exceptional performance.

It is indeed a proud moment for the whole Nation and the Pakistan Army, which is known for its professionalism and highest training standards. Pakistan Army has always held the country’s flag high, secured the highest number of points in Ex CP-24 (864 points).

Pakistan’s victory in the Exercise CP24 underscores its army’s ability to perform under the most demanding conditions. The win reaffirms the Pakistan Army’s professionalism, discipline, and commitment to operational excellence, marking a proud moment for both the military and the nation.

This triumph not only underscores the Pakistan Army’s prowess but also solidifies its reputation on the global military stage. By showcasing its exceptional preparedness and skill, Pakistan can forge stronger defense partnerships with participating nations. This victory also offers an opportunity to reshape Pakistan’s international narrative, shifting the focus from political complexities to the military’s strength and discipline. Moreover, it inspires the army’s personnel, fueling their dedication and fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Such remarkable success should inspire other nations to consider sending their armies to Pakistan for advanced training. By learning from the Pakistan Army’s proven methodologies and experienced instructors, foreign militaries can enhance their capabilities and contribute to global peace and security. This would not only strengthen bilateral defense ties but also elevate Pakistan’s international standing as a leading military power.
