All these elements are crucial for expressing a state’s identity, but the flag is particularly significant as it not only symbolizes the nation but also serves as a symbol of dignity and sovereignty. Disregarding the flag can deeply hurt the sentiments of entire nations. Such an incident happened in Germany at the Pakistani consulate, where the violent mob ridiculed Pakistan’s flag, which is indeed a matter of concern for the entire nation.
To condemn such an incident and show solidarity with the national flag, the Pakistani government launched the Hurmat-e-Parcham campaign on July 4, in which the cabinet and federal minister are taking part. The main goal of this campaign is to reinforce elements of the national identity and to demonstrate a commitment to discourage future provocation of such incidents.

We must condemn any such incident globally, as it can lead to serious conflicts between various identity groups. Every community holds their identity elements sacred, and ridiculing them can ignite significant conflict and chaos in society.
Germany is open to groups belonging to different cultures, religions, and ethnic backgrounds. Her commitment to strengthening a pluralist society is commendable, but it needs to take adequate steps to control such action in the future and safeguard foreign assets.
The Pakistani government is committed to running the Hurmat-e-Parcham campaign until August 14, the month of independence. We must fortify our values, beliefs, and ideas to establish a distinct national identity.
